As hilarious as this is, were it modified, this actually COULD work...you'd just need really, REALLY powerful magnets. Probably electromagnets.

Look it up--it's the same thing bullet trains use (just totally unfeasible).

If you multiply magnet power by 42, then the plane doesn't need to move. It's everywhere at once....

Actually, there's really a train (yeah, I know its an airplane on the images) that works like this, with magnets. It moves at 3500 miles per hour, muck faster than any airplane, and uses 2% of the energy an airplane uses. Magnets really ****ing work.

It doesnt work because the magnets can't exert force on an object they are attached to. Just like you cant power a sail boat with fans, the magnet cannot create thrust even though the attraction is there. With a more powerful magnet, all that will happen is additional strain on the attachment to the plane. So for all you trolls that can't actually explain why this does not work there you go.

You're ridiculous. As a previous commenter said, it won't work because the magnet cannot exert force on attached objects, and maglev trains work because the magnets are on the rails, not the trains. The Japanese bullet train can go roughly 350+mph, not 3500. Land speed record is 760 by the ThrustSSC...thus your statement is invalid.
